About the Writing

The hallowed halls of the university are often shrouded in mystery. Or I at least like to think that they are, because it makes me feel more like James Bond. Or Harry Potter. Or *insert other-supremely-cool-and-fictional-British-man-who-has-nothing-to-do-with-universities-but-is-mysterious-nonetheless here*. Regardless, it is my intention to clear the fog, to show people what the real life of a grad student is like. Because I bet many of you, whether you're considering becoming a grad student or whether you think we're all a bunch of hippie weirdos, are wondering what the fuck it is exactly that we do. Mostly, we wonder that too. But the internet is full of representations of grad students looking like all we do is protest something or other and whine about marking and I think it would be kinda neat to give people the inside scoop. We do those things...we do those things A LOT...but we also do other things. Like write mind-blowingly awesome papers. And freak out about said papers. (I think more freaking out occurs than writing.) And we also drink coffee and beer and fall in love and forget to do laundry and watch YouTube videos about cats and question our existence and live in shitty apartments because we're poor and lots of other totally awesome and not so awesome things that I'm sure you wanna know about.
